Make People Throw Their Credit Cards At Your Ads
Good marketing is the difference between your business thriving and your business staying exactly as it is now. The great thing is, good marketing that SELLS isn’t very hard to create.
Today, I’m going to show you the EASIEST way for you to start getting your customers to throw their cards at you voluntarily.
(To buy your services, not because they’re ninjas and want to decapitate you.)
Let’s get into it:
Nobody Cares About You
I’m sure the people you’re around all day love and care for you from the bottom of their hearts, but your audience…
…they’re selfish.
You need to think of them as a 3yr old toddler:
“Chocolate, mine mine mine mine mine! You want chocolate? No! All mine mine mine”
Your audience only cares about themselves, and that’s actually a good thing. Because that means things get a whole lot simpler. You don’t need to find out what their secret fantasies are, or their deepest dirty secrets.
You just need to know that whatever you say, it needs to be about them.
And if you don’t make it about your audience, they WILL simply switch off and lose all interest in what you’re saying, then proceed to watching the next viral TikTok dance.
So how can you translate this for your ads?
Why Most Ads Fail
Most ads just splurge their words on themselves, because a lot of business owners like to stroke their own ego and/or saw a post online about “bRaNdInG”.
Yes, it’s good to have confidence in whatever you’re selling, very important.
But to have a 90 second video where you mention your company name 6 times and have your logo in all 4 corners…
…that’s what makes ads ineffective.
Because, going back to the beginning of this article - nobody cares about you.
People are SELFISH, they only care about themselves. They don’t care about the newest nanotechnology your car-detailing garage has, or how your face cream has 97 different natural and organic ingredients.
They only want to know one thing…
Selling The Need
…they want to know what’s in it for THEM.
Why should they pay attention to you? Yes, for you, all the science behind your latest protein shake tells you that it’s the best protein shake in the world.
But for them - you’re just speaking in Enigma.
Which one of these would you buy?
“This shake has 97 different amino acids with 34 different flavours and the fibre that’s added in helps your gut to digest and absorb the protein at a much faster rate!”
OR…
“Want to build muscle? This shake has been blended specifically to help you build muscle mass.”
See the difference? The first one is boring and if you don’t know anything about protein shakes, you just want to turn off and fall asleep.
Versus the second one, it tells you specifically why you should pay attention. It will help you get big and build muscle.
So in summary, you need to sell the benefit of the outcome of your product.
And from now on, you must make one promise to the sensei of marketing…
…you will NEVER go ape-shit about your own product, ever again. And instead, you will give people a reason to watch your ad.
