How Much Does Claude for Small Business Cost? (2026 Pricing, Honestly)

Claude for Small Business costs nothing extra. You need a paid Claude plan: Pro from $17/mo, Team from $20/seat. Here is the real monthly total.

Claude for Small Business costs nothing extra. It is a free plugin. What you pay for is the Claude plan it runs on. That is $20 a month if you pay month to month, or $17 a month if you pay for a year up front. If you want a team on it, seats are $25 per person per month, or $20 per person per month on annual billing. Those are Anthropic's prices, from claude.com/pricing. They exclude tax, and Anthropic can change them whenever it likes.

That is the whole answer to the search. The rest of this page is the part that costs people money later: what else lands on the bill, and what three real businesses end up paying each month.

One number you will see that is wrong

A lot of write-ups say you need Claude Team at $30 a seat. Both halves of that are wrong. Team is $25 a seat on monthly billing, not $30. And Team is not required at all. The plugin runs on Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise.

We are not being smug about it. An early version of our own page carried the $30 figure. We checked it against Anthropic's pricing page, found it was wrong, and rewrote the page. That is why this one leads with the source link.

What you are actually paying for

There are three lines on the real bill. Only one of them is new money.

  • The Claude seat. New spend. $17 to $25 a month for most small businesses.
  • The tools it plugs into. QuickBooks, HubSpot and the rest. Not new spend. You are almost certainly paying for these already.
  • Your time to set it up. Free in cash. Not free in hours.

Claude plan prices in 2026

Every price below is Anthropic's, taken from claude.com/pricing. Prices exclude tax.

Plan Billed monthly Billed annually Runs the plugin?
Free $0 $0 No
Pro $20/mo $17/mo Yes
Max 5× from $100/mo n/a Yes
Max 20× from $200/mo n/a Yes
Team Standard $25/seat/mo $20/seat/mo Yes
Team Premium $125/seat/mo $100/seat/mo Yes
Enterprise $20/seat plus usage at API rates n/a Yes

Two things in that table get missed. Team is sold for groups of 2 to 150 people, so a one-person business uses Pro, not Team. And annual billing is paid in one go. Pro's annual deal is $200 charged up front, which works out at $17 a month.

Is Claude for Small Business free?

The plugin is free. The plan is not.

You cannot run it on the Free plan. Anthropic's install guide says you need the Claude desktop app and a Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan, with Cowork switched on. Installing takes four clicks: open Cowork, choose Customize, click the plus under Plugins, find Small Business in the marketplace, hit Install. There is nothing to download and nothing to pay at that step.

So the honest answer to "is it free" is this. Free to add. $17 a month minimum to use.

What the money buys

Fifteen ready-made workflows, run as slash commands. Here are Anthropic's own words on four of them:

  • /plan-payroll: "forecast cash and chase overdue invoices"
  • /close-month: "reconcile and write the P&L narrative"
  • /run-campaign: "end-to-end growth campaign with Canva assets"
  • /monday-brief: "start-of-week snapshot of cash, sales, pipeline, and your top three to-dos"

The other eleven cover pricing checks, tax prep, call lists, sales briefs, complaints, customer sentiment, CRM cleanup, contract review, the Friday wrap and the quarterly review. Underneath them sit fifteen smaller skills that switch on by themselves.

You do not pay per workflow. You do not pay per run. It is all inside the seat price.

The partner tools, and why we will not quote you a price

Anthropic named seven partner integrations at launch: QuickBooks, PayPal, HubSpot, Canva, DocuSign, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Claude's wider connector library adds Slack, Gmail, Google Drive and Google Calendar.

Any guide that hands you a neat total with a QuickBooks price baked into it is guessing. Those prices move. They differ by country. They change with promotions and plan tiers. So we are not going to print one.

Here is the useful way to think about it instead. You already pay for these. If you run a business with a bookkeeper, you have accounting software. If you send contracts, you have e-signature. The plugin connects to what you have. It does not make you buy anything new.

One warning. Some tools only open up their connections on a higher tier. If you are on the cheapest plan of your accounting or CRM software, check whether the integration is included before you assume the total is just the Claude seat. Look it up on that vendor's own pricing page on the day you buy.

Three real monthly totals

1. Solo trades business: plumber, electrician, landscaper

One owner. One phone. Accounting software already in place.

  • Claude Pro, annual billing: $17/mo ($200 charged up front)
  • Accounting and payment tools: what you already pay
  • New spend: $17 a month. $20 if you would rather pay monthly and keep the flexibility.

That is the floor. There is no cheaper way to run this thing.

2. Two-person shop: owner plus an office manager

Team starts at two people, so this is the first point where Team makes sense. Sharing one login is against the rules, and it gets messy fast anyway.

  • 2 Team Standard seats, monthly: $50/mo
  • 2 Team Standard seats, annual: $40/mo ($480 a year)
  • Existing tools: what you already pay
  • New spend: $40 to $50 a month.

Two Pro seats cost the same $40 on annual billing. Team adds shared setup and one bill, which starts to matter once somebody other than you is running the workflows.

3. Five-person firm: agency, clinic, contractor with a back office

  • 5 Team Standard seats, monthly: $125/mo
  • 5 Team Standard seats, annual: $100/mo ($1,200 a year)
  • Existing accounting, CRM and design tools: what you already pay
  • New spend: $100 to $125 a month.

Annual billing saves this firm $300 a year. Team Premium exists at $125 a seat monthly, or $100 a seat annually, and buys more usage. Start on Standard. Move up only if you hit the limits.

How that compares to hiring someone

We are not going to throw a salary statistic at you. The honest numbers depend on where you are and who you hire.

The shape of it is simple though. A virtual assistant working a few hours a week costs many times a $17 Claude seat. A part-time bookkeeper or ops person costs many times that again. On price alone it is not a close comparison.

Do not read that as "fire someone". Claude does not answer your phone, meet your customers, or make the judgement call on a difficult client. What it takes off you is the admin tail. Month-end reconciling. Chasing invoices. The Monday scramble to work out where you stand. If that work is currently eating your evenings rather than a payroll line, the saving shows up in hours, not dollars.

The costs people forget

  • Annual billing is paid up front. The $17 a month is really $200 today.
  • Tax is on top. Anthropic's listed prices exclude it.
  • Usage limits apply. Heavy weeks can push you toward a bigger plan.
  • A partner tool tier upgrade. Uncommon, but check before you assume.
  • Setup time. Installing takes minutes. Connecting your accounts, tailoring the plugin to your business and learning which commands you actually use takes longer.
  • Prices change. Everything here was checked on 2 September 2026. Check the source before you buy.

What we do with this

ES Studios sets it up for you. We connect the accounts, tailor the workflows to how your business actually runs, and hand it over working. That is a separate cost from the Claude seat, and it is a premium service. It is not for someone who only wants the $17 plan switched on.

If you would rather do it yourself, everything you need is on Anthropic's own pages. Start with the launch announcement, then the install tutorial.

Common questions

Is Claude for Small Business free?

The plugin is free to install and free to use. The Claude plan underneath it is not. You need Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise, so the real minimum is $17 a month on annual billing, or $20 month to month.

How much is Claude for Small Business per month?

For one person, $17 to $20. For a team, $20 to $25 per person per month, depending on whether you pay annually or monthly. Bigger usage tiers exist at $100 and $200 a month. Most small businesses do not need them.

Do I have to buy Claude Team?

No. That is the most common mistake in write-ups about this. The plugin runs on Pro, which is the cheapest paid plan. Team is worth it when more than one person needs their own login, and Team starts at two seats.

Does the plugin charge per workflow or per run?

No. All fifteen workflows are included in the plan price. There is no per-use charge and no add-on fee.

Do I need QuickBooks or HubSpot to use it?

No. The workflows connect to those tools if you have them, and they are far more useful connected. But nothing forces you to buy software you do not already own. Seven partner integrations were named at launch, alongside Claude's wider connector library.

Is annual billing worth it?

Usually yes, if you are sure. Pro on annual billing saves $40 a year. Five Team seats on annual billing save $300 a year. The trade is that you pay the whole year today. If you are still testing whether this fits your business, stay monthly for the first couple of months.

Will these prices change?

Yes, at some point. Anthropic states plainly that prices and plans are subject to change at its discretion, and that listed prices exclude tax. Every figure here came from Anthropic's own pages on 2 September 2026. Check claude.com/pricing before you commit.

The bottom line

You are looking at $17 to $25 a month per person. Nothing else on the bill is new money. If somebody quotes you a bigger number for Claude for Small Business itself, ask them where it came from.
